Jophiel Arts Studio-----by Deb Stockberger

My journey with stained glass started several years ago when I attended a class through the local art museum. It peaked my interest enough to keep learning and growing by reading, attending online webinars and face-to-face workshops. I am constantly striving to learn new techniques to enhance the work I complete such as kiln formed glass, airbrushing, silk screening, sandblasting,  glass etching and painting.

The majority of work that I have done has been commissioned, or for the people in my life. I have worked out of my basement in a small area with equipment and glass stored in various areas around the house or garage. I am sure there are many stained glass artists that can relate to that! After official retirement and much contemplation I decided it was time to have more room to have all of my “stuff” in one place, so I obtained space to do just that. Through doing this I can indulge in many of the other art forms that I am interested in, and offer it to others to learn, create, and have fun! Jophiel Arts Studio offers a variety of Art workshops for all ages.

The studio is named for the  Archangel Jophiel, who is known as the angel of beauty. If you notice beauty in the world or receive creative ideas that inspire you to create beauty, Jophiel may be nearby. The sunshine ray of Jophiel’s energy brings us to each day as a means to create fresh approaches, regarding each aspect of life. Not only will Jophiel give you ideas for creating something beautiful, but she may also help you appreciate the beauty around you.
